Motivation is essential if anyone is to lose weight. A whole lot of things are tied to
the functionality of our minds and if there is no motivation right in there,
there will be no success. I have seen people who set out on their weight loss
program like they are going to burn 10 pounds in 1 week but just before the
first week ends, they give up on their weight loss program. You may ask why?
While I may not be certain, I can easily trace it to motivation.

However, you will not be able to lose the weight in your mind if you do not
have any reason for wanting to shed weight. If you want to take off the extra
body weight you have because people are doing it, then you do not have a
reason. You cannot compare yourself with someone who is about to lose a job or
a spouse if weight is not lost. Something is on the line for those people. You
must have tangible reason for wanting to lose those extra pounds; that is how
to get motivated to lose weight.

Keep a picture of
what you really want at the back of your mind and be ready to reach that goal.
For an advice, stay away from the scale. Checking your weight every day can
demoralize you if you do not see any change. Minimize how many times you weigh
yourself. It will help keep the flame of your motivation on. Just keep losing
that weight in your mind every day; you will be surprised how much you have
lost when eventually you check your weight.
